If You Want Something, You've Gotta Ask For It...

Craig Rowin posted that on YouTube a couple of months ago. Too bad it wasn't your idea.

From HuffPo:

Two months ago, Brooklyn Comedian Craig Rowin made a YouTube video asking for $1 million. Not for any purpose, mind you, he just wanted a million dollars. Rowin now reports, in a new video, that he's found a man willing to pony up the cash to make his dream a reality.
Rowin got a call on his answering machine stating, "Hi Craig, Benjamin, I was hoping to catch you in person. I want to talk about how to make you a millionaire."
The funnyman admits that, at first, he was skeptical, but then he received a notarized letter from Benjamin's lawyer, notifying him that the proposition was legitimate.
"I'm overwhelmed right now," Rowin told the Daily News. "I'm trying to figure all this out right now."
Rowin will receive his check at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater on Feb. 2.

"Conservative Humor" Is An Oxymoron.

When it comes to humorous cover art, National Review really needs to take a lesson or two from Mad magazine.

The dead-enders at NR are freaked out about the Obama administration, but nothing gets them as cross-eyed crazy as the thought of health care reform, or--as those pejorative-seeking wordsmiths on the right have named it--"ObamaCare."

But back to that cover: "Conservative humor" really is an oxymoron, but then, so is that fat guy on the radio...

Knock (Up), Knock (Up); Who's There?

Easily-aggrieved Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and coattail-riding right-wing nitwit Michelle Malkin continue to manufacture righteous indignity over David Letterman's jokes the other night.

From the AP:

Sarah Palin says David Letterman owes an apology to young women across the country for his joke about her daughter.
The Alaska governor appeared on NBC's "Today" show Friday, continuing a feud with Letterman over his joke that Palin's daughter got "knocked up" by Alex Rodriguez during their recent trip to New York.
Palin says the late-night funnyman has contributed to a thread throughout culture that says it's acceptable and funny to talk about statutory rape.
Letterman has said his joke was about Palin's 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, who is a single mother. But it was her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, who'd been at the baseball game.
Palin said it took Letterman time to think of the "convenient excuse" that he was talking about Bristol instead of Willow.

And then there's Michelle Malkin. If it's ersatz outrage and a hyperventilating cultural patrol that you want, she's your gal:

My syndicated column today fixes the spotlight on David “The Perv” Letterman’s contempt for women. Yesterday morning, I noted the silence of the feminists. Last night, NOW finally spoke up — but not without taking a holier-than-thou potshot of its own. I suggest they all review the Four Stages of Conservative Female Abuse before wagging their tired old fingers again and lecturing us “inauthentic” women about not doing enough to combat sexism.
Dear David Letterman,
Will you teach your son to talk about women and girls the way you talk about Sarah Palin and her daughters?

The rest of her latest screed is here if you have the stomach for it (or if you need a good laugh.)

I'm guessing you won't be running into either Palin or Malkin down at The Laugh Factory anytime soon, unless they're out front picketing stand-up comedians.

UPDATE: If you have a high threshold for a crazy lady suggesting that David Letterman is a child molester, here ya go:
