I read that former Cheers actor John Ratzenberger was supporting Republican Scott Brown in the Massachusetts Senate race. I Googled his name, and came across this mind-numbingly dumb quote from a Brown campaign rally via--surprise!--the National Review, in a snarky post entitled, "That Other Hollywood: Cheers!"Maybe he's auditioning for Fox and Friends:
Typecasting, I guess...

This isn't the Democratic party of our fathers and grandfathers. This is the party of Woodstock hippies. I was at Woodstock — I built the stage. And when everything fell apart, and people were fighting for peanut-butter sandwiches, it was the National Guard who came in and saved the same people who were protesting them. So when Hillary Clintona few years ago wanted to build a Woodstock memorial, I said it should be a statue of a National Guardsman feeding a crying hippie.
Basically, it seems Ratzenberger was reprising his role as dim-witted gasbag Cliff Claven, this time by playing himself.
Typecasting, I guess...
