Bachmann's Call To Arms.

Such a Christian way of thinking.

What is it about the lunatic fringe and their penchant for suggesting armed revolt?

From Rachel Weiner on
HuffPo:

Controversial Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said this weekend that she wants residents of her state "armed and dangerous" over President Barack Obama's plan to reduce global warming "because we need to fight back."

Asked about the White House-backed cap-and-trade proposal to reduce carbon emissions, Bachmann told WWTC 1280 AM, "I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us 'having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,' and the people -- we the people -- are going to have to fight back hard if we're not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States."

Bachmann also told her constituents she was "a foreign correspondent on enemy lines," sending Minnesotans warnings through her blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace. "I try to let everyone back here in Minnesota know exactly the nefarious activities that are taking place in Washington."

The comments have been picked up by local blogs Smart Politics and Dump Bachmann.

Bachmann has encouraged resistance against President Obama before, saying that the Republican party needs "to do everything we can to thwart [the Democrats] at every turn to make sure that they aren't able to, for all time, secure a power base that for all time can never be defeated."

"A Whip For The Horse, A Bridle For The Ass, And A Rod For The Fool's Back."

Proverbs 26:3.
Yup--a godless heathen such as me quoting the Bible. (Jesus Christ!)
Maybe there really is a plan for you in the great beyond, Sean (at least the bridle and the rod part...)
Fair & balanced.

Victoria Jackson Wasn't Funny On SNL But She's Hilarious Now!

There was a pic of  Victoria Jackson here. A GOP Confederate claimed it was his, so I deleted it.
This must be the first time in the history of the world that anybody ever claimed some form of ownership of a picture of a fringe right-wing, long-forgotten, can't-get-work-but-not-dead-yet former SNL-er.
I don't care much for GOP Confederates, and I don't remember Victoria Jackson on that damn show at all.

OK. Ill try to boil this down to its nutty essence.
The rapidly-dwindling outer fringes of the modern Republican Party--I call that wing the GOP Confederacy--staged anti-stimulus protests in a bunch of cities today.
Indignant L'il Limbot Michelle Malkin joined forces with other Limbots on conservative radio and the Internet, using fellow asshole Rick Santelli's CNBC rant as impetus to send roving bands of obedient Republicans out onto our nation's streets.
     With me so far?
The general idea was to gather herds of captive conservative media sheep via radio, blogs and assorted twits on Twitter. The target was the stimulus bill--now law--and the tactics were to wear stupid pig noses, carry barely-literate signs and mouth off about policies most have probably only heard about on their local righty talk shows. And just like Sean Hannity, they had their talking points handed to them, too.
Summing it up for me, though, was their star attraction at the Los Angeles version of the branding-challenged Great American Tea Party protest: former Saturday Night Live alum Victoria Jackson, who read the definition of "socialism" for the tiny band of assembled weasels on the Santa Monica Pier.
I've seen lots of crazy stuff on the Santa Monica Pier, but none quite as other-wordly, zonked crazy as Jackson, who in this clip leaves her home planet long enough to make even Bill O'Reilly seem almost sane in comparison:

Crazy: adj. affected with madness; insane.
