Joe The Plumber Takes A Crack At Government Work.

From USA Today:

Remember Joe the Plumber? He's Joe the Politician now.
The guy who became an overnight sensation of the 2008 presidential campaign ascended to political office Tuesday, winning election as a Republican committeeman for northwest Ohio's Lucas County.
"Joe," whose real name is Samuel Wurzelbacher, was was caught on tape asking pointed questions about Barack Obama's tax policy when the then-Democratic nominee was canvassing his Ohio neighborhood -- and promptly got adopted as a political mascot by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., Obama's opponent.
Apparently, the close encounter with politics whetted Wurzelbacher's appetite for more.
He has written a book and hit the political speaking circuit, including "Tea Party" rally in Cincinnati last month.
The Associated Press reports that Wurzelbacher won a spot on the Lucas County Republican committee by a 38-23 vote in his suburban Toledo precinct. That makes him one of nearly 400 committee members who set the agenda and pick a chairman for the local party.

Well, it looks like Lucas County will now be safe from all that elite, Obama-style socialism we keep hearing about. After all, a barely-literate, unlicensed plumber is on the job, fitting squarely in the sweet spot for GOP candidates nationwide.

He Ain't All That He's Cracked Up To Be.

The anti-Employee Free Choice Act crew Americans For Prosperity has hired last fall's McCain campaign media invention and dipshit camera whore Joe the Plumber to shill for their union-busting efforts. Of course, Joe doesn't know a goddamn thing about EFCA (or any other issue, for that matter), and he continues to make a fool of himself at every stop, in every possible way.
But, hey: once the socialists take over the United States educational system, maybe Joe'll go get him some learnin':

Joe's Introspection.

From the New York Daily News:

You’d think Joe the Plumber’s 15 minutes would be up by now. But , no, after a stint as a correspondent in Israel, he took his act to Capitol Hill Tuesday.

The first order of business: giving political advice to conservative Republican staffers at breakfast, which, Wurzelbacher told us, “Went really well.”

His advice, essentially, was to take no prisoners in standing up for their beliefs.

“It’s not politically incorrect to say you’re Republican or conservative,” Joe said. “They need to dig their heels in and fight for what needs to be done.”

And no reason to be subtle, he said, as long as folks inform themselves. “I don’t believe there’s two sides to every story. It’s black and white,” Wurzelbacher explained. “There’s right and wrong.”

One thing that needs to be done, he said, is killing this stimulus package, because it’s just another example of “American government” — Republicans and Democrats — “kicking our butts left and right.” He also called it welfare.

As for his own political career, America will just have to wait six years until his son grows up.

“I don’t know if the American public deserve me,” he said, “but my son definitely deserves my time now.”

Joe's right. What the hell did the "American public" ever do to deserve him?
