H.R. 676 & You.

You are probably familiar with H.R. 676, introduced by Michigan Representative John Conyers. It would establish a universal health insurance program with single payer financing. Here's co-sponsor, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH):

There have been many posts on JackRabbit Café--here (and here and here and here) about the need for health care reform. Lots of ideas--great, good, bad, and ridiculous--have been thrown around by politicians, journalists, cable TV pundits, radio talk show hosts, bloggers and the guy one stool over; the push to reform our broken health care system seems long overdue to many of us, and it freaks a whole lot of others out.

Ronald Reagan was hired to lie about the imagined evils of Medicare to people like that latter group almost fifty years ago.

There are many foes of reform playing the same sorry role made famous by that bad actor a half-century ago.

Tune 'em out.
