Manny's Statement.

From TMZ.com:

"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me.

Unfortunately, the
medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy, that mistake is now my responsibility. I've been advised not to say anything more for now.

I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15
drug tests over the past 5 seasons.

I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt,
Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. L.A. is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation."

UPDATE here.

This really tough for Dodgers fans since Manny and crew were off to a great start. I have a hard time swallowing his excuse that his MD is ultimately to blame especially since Manny is not contesting the ban. I would have to believe if that were the case his legal team and the player's union would be howling and trying to stave off the suspension pending some kinda hearing. I suspect they don't want the good doctor under oath in a court room and exposing Manny's line as pure BS.

Good for MLB though. This is what needs to be done to clean up the sport.

Yup. I agree. Manny really lit up L.A. & the Dodgers, but a cheater is a cheater is a cheater, and his excuse is pure bullshit.

Another hit on a great game.

Memo to Manny: Take 50 games off, asshole.

I can't understand how Manny would think he could get away with it. He might have just wanted a little time off, nothing like late spring early summer weather.
