From the AP:
Faced with problems over back taxes and potential conflicts of interest, Tom Daschle withdrew his nomination on Tuesday to be President Barack Obama's Health and Human Services secretary.
"Now we must move forward," Obama said in a written statement accepting Daschle's request to be taken out of consideration. A day earlier, Obama had said he "absolutely" stood by Daschle.
Nancy Killefer withdrew her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government on Tuesday, saying she didn't want her bungling of payroll taxes on her household help to become a distraction for the Obama administration.
Before that, Timothy Geithner was confirmed as treasury secretary despite being late out of the gate in paying $34,000 in income taxes, and even earlier, Obama's first choice for commerce secretary, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, took his name out of consideration when complications arose as the result of a grand jury investigation over how state contracts were issued to political donors.
I don't think we need saints in these posts, but don't these people have people to figure this stuff out?

Pick me, just got done settling with the IRS last night, I know one thing, I paid all of my taxes and then some.
I could be some kind of Czar or something for the new administration and then after a few years, when I get really good, I can avoid paying my taxes.
