John Ziegler is a former bounce-around, right-wing radio talk show host, currently attempting to cash in on Barack Obama's election by dishonestly portraying Obama voters as uninformed morons. His use of a misleading Zogby poll in his sham documentary How Obama Got Elected was roundly criticized, even by a kindred spirit like the Wall Street Journal, as well as by Zogby himself.
Ziegler's latest stab at post-election opportunism is a softball interview of Alaska governor and endless comedy font Sarah Palin. It's ostensibly for an anti-media documentary he is planning to foist on his minute fringe. Watching these two has a certain local public access quality to it, and Palin again comes off as woefully ignorant of the world around her. No word on whether Ziegler plans on using another bullshit poll.
In one of my favorite skits, Ziegler actually asks Palin how she felt she would have been treated (by the conspiratorial socialist media, no doubt) if she would have been Obama's running mate. "Pretend he really wanted to be post-partisan," posits an out-to-lunch Ziegler. Poor l'il Sarah takes the rotting bait:
"I think they would have loved me as a candidate ... we would have seen an absolutely different and a ... much prettier profile of Sarah Palin and the Palin family and my administration."
Cue laugh track.
There's more; much more, and it is as loopy and disjointed as all Palin performances. She has perfected passive-aggressive bitchiness, particularly when it comes to Katie Couric, and she's now apparently developed a Kennedy fixation.
Please, please, please: Palin in 2012!
A nation starved for train-wreck, rubber-neck entertainment needs Da Crazy--today, tomorrow, and for at least the next four years.
