From MSNBC.com:
Chuck Todd was named Chief White House Correspondent for NBC News in December 2008. He became NBC News’ political director in March 2007. He also serves as contributing editor to "Meet the Press" and NBC News' on-air political analyst for "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams," "Today," and MSNBC, including "Hardball with Chris Matthews."
In addition to his on-air analysis, Todd has been responsible for all aspects of the network’s political coverage, including maintaining contact with the campaigns and serving as the point person for political news and information. He is also the editor of "First Read," NBC’s must-read guide to political news and trends in and around Washington, D.C. (www.firstread.msnbc.com), and writes weekly analysis columns for MSNBC.com. He is based in NBC News' bureau in Washington, D.C.
Todd is a solid-as-a-rock political analyst who seems to always know where the bodies are buried. He was my runner-up for the Meet The Press post that went to David Gregory (I thought Rachel Maddow would have kicked ass on MTP, as well as attracted a new generation of viewers.)
Todd's new post is traditionally a plum assignment for journalists, and I'm sure he'll be insightfully top-notch.
