"We Are A Better Country Than This."

Those words tonight from Barack Obama, accepting the Democratic presidential nomination before over 80,000 people in Denver.
Obama was firing on all cylinders--delivering a superb, self-penned speech--and he attacked John McCain as a Bush clone of questionable judgement and temperament intent on continuing the same GOP policies that haven't worked for the past eight years.
As Obama put it, "Eight is enough."
Hell, the first four were enough, but the American electorate decided to go double-or-nothing.
We got nothing, and we got it twice.
Next week, Republicans will meet in the Twin Cities, trying to paper over their cracked and crumbling walls.
A week from tonight, a misguided, double-talking old dolt will speak to a flag-pin lapel-obsessed crowd, many of whom have never liked their own nominee.
Tomorrow "DoubleTalk McBush III" will announce his choice for VP on his own 72nd birthday, although that choice may well be leaked at any moment.
But tonight belonged to Barack Obama, a historical candidate for these turbulent, changing times.
