With the NBA Championship in hand in what will be viewed as legendary series by Celtic Nation (aren’t they all?) I want to get real with the stuff I don’t talk about while a series is in progress.
These things are true…
This year’s Lakers were a vastly overrated team. No fault of theirs but it happens to be true. Based on their performance during the finals the Lakers were no better than the fourth best team in the NBA behind the Cavaliers and Pistons.
Michael Wilbon, Stephen A. Smith, and Greg Anthony should never be allowed to provide analysis again for an NBA anything. Wilbon just doesn’t know the game. Greg Anthony is, well, an asshole. And Stephen A. needs to back off Kobe’s dick just long enough to come up for air now and then. Jon Barry was the sole voice of reason prior to and during the finals broadcasts.
Kobe is not Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, or Bill Russell (and Bill Russell is the best player of all time thank you).
Lamar Odom is still the league’s biggest disappointment.
Sasha Vujacic should be a star. In Europe.
Luke Walton has no game. Sure he hustles but he has no game. None. Zero.
Phil Jackson is dying inside. He didn’t win number ten to surpass Red Auerbach (who was smart enough to retire in time to enjoy life), lost to the Celtics, and was disappointed (more like shamed) by a team that just curled up and quit.
Oh yes, one more thing…
The Boston Celtics are the best team in the NBA, again.
