Is Michelle Malkin The Dumbest Woman In America, Or Does She Just Play Her On T.V.?

     Unreal.
I was going to post something about the Dunkin' Donuts/Rachael Ray scarf nonsense the other day, but then decided that it was so incredibly stupid, it didn't warrant a waste of my limited typing skills.
But when companies cave to lunatics, it's worth pointing out.
Perpetually angry and famously whiny blogger Michelle Malkin freaked out when she saw Ray in a scarf that Malkin's xenophobic mind somehow processed as "terroristic".
Malkin is a fringe figure who recently swore off Starbucks because they were too, um, whatever an idiot like Michelle Malkin imagines they were, I guess.
So off to Dunkin' Donuts she sashayed, claiming they are "anti-illegal immigration" or some such non-issue.
As reported in the Boston Globe, Dunkin' Donuts originally was sane about this B.S., claiming Ray's black-and-white wrap was not a keffiyeh, as Malkin breathlessly implied. But the right-wing drumbeat on the blogosphere continued and by yesterday, Dunkin' Donuts decided it'd be easier just to yank the ad.

Said the weak-willed company in a statement: "In a recent online ad, Rachael Ray is wearing a black-and-white silk scarf with a paisley design. It was selected by her stylist for the advertising shoot. Absolutely no symbolism was intended. However, given the possibility of misperception, we are no longer using the commercial."

Like fingernails on a blackboard, the mindless Malkin chimes in:
"It's refreshing to see an American company show sensitivity to the concerns of Americans opposed to Islamic jihad and its apologists. Too many of them bend over backward in the direction of anti-American political correctness....

Fashion statements may seem insignificant, but when they lead to the mainstreaming of violence -- unintentionally or not -- they matter. Ignorance is no longer an excuse. In post-9/11 America, vigilance must never go out of style."

Yes, a donut shop ad scares Michelle Malkin.

It was also Malkin who called for a boycott of Absolut Vodka recently over their humorous U.S./Mexican border ads.

     Absolut caved, too.

If only we could boycott Michelle Malkin so she would go "POOF!" and forever disappear.

Ooooooh, such anger will cause your liver to explode and run down your leg into your socks. But typical weenie stuff.

Now THAT'S some fine commentary! Did your 5-year old write that?

You're right.

Plus, since Dunkin' Donuts is the favorite haunt of cops everywhere, isn't it fair to assume Malkin is anti-cop? Why not?

First time I saw that ad I wanted to run out and blow myself up.....

It all makes sense now.

It's truly disturbing that a tiny, insignificant voice like Michelle Malkin -- uninformed and ill willed -- can tip opinion in such a dramatic way. Our country, especially at the corporate level, continues to be so driven by fiscal paranoia and fear, it won't be long until we are back to the "point and condemn" days of Joseph McCarthy.
