From the L.A. Times:
Barack Obama claimed a milestone tonight in his historic quest for the White House, saying he had locked up a majority of delegates allotted in this year's Democratic primaries and caucuses, despite winning only one of the day's two election contests. Speaking at an open-air rally in Des Moines, Obama said he had secured a majority of the pledged delegates -- those won in primaries and caucuses -- heading to August's Democratic National Convention in Denver. Though that doesn't assure Obama the nomination, it signals that victory could be near in his hard-fought battle with Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In a related story, Hillary Clinton announced tonight that she won't quit until she goes door-to-door in all 50 states, asking, "Are you sure?"
