What's the "mission" this week, and when will it be "accomplished" this time?

From the New York Times:

Data from the United States Army shows that 40 percent of current military service members have been deployed more than once, and one in eight have been deployed three or more times. A study by the Army Surgeon General's Mental Health Advisory team found a significant increase in mental health problems in male noncommissioned Army officers who had more deployments. Of those who were deployed once, 12 percent had depression, anxiety or acute stress. The figure increased to 27 percent for those who were deployed three or four times.

Or, as Dick Cheney would say: "So?"

I am so sick of corporate owned politicians and the vast majority who support them saying they support the troops while facts continue to prove that in reality they could give a shit about the troops.

Part of me says hey nobody held a gun to a soldier's head to make them enlist and that this current murder pit they find themselves trapped is part of the bargain. But another part me (the more realistic part) says hey these poor f'ers got suckered into the amerikan scam and are now learning a hard lesson from corporate robber barons that see them as cheap f'ing expendible larbor.

And those same robber barons that always yammer on and on about how gas should cost what it does because it's being adjusted freely by market value have done an amazing job of denying thier beloved amerikan military the fair value or thier marketablility.

Check this freedom lovers...the average base monthly pay for Blackwater security agents is a more than $120,000 a year. I have to say that's got to be a bargin considering the work environment.

However an army E-3 soldier in Iraq (you know the ones we call heroes) makes a bit more than $33,000 a year. And that include COLA and duty pay!!!

Any wonder they have to keep going back? It's the latest form of endentured seritude. I'll call it by it's true name...slavery.

I worked with contractors in Russia, same concept as Blackwater, without the war, of course. One of 'em's kid got killed in Iraq; The kid, like the old man, a contractor, although not for Blackwater. It's a mercenary territory, and meanwhile, many U.S. soldiers are busy trying to not have their cars repossessed back home.

Read this; I knew this guy's father. The less said about him the better.
