It will also be the last opening day at Shea Stadium. While not as historic as Yankee Stadium, for us Mets fans (I adopted them as my N.L. team in '86, winning a dollar from my mom, who was silly enough to bet on the Red Sox in that year's World Series) it's a shame to see it go.
